Hello Year 2,

I hope you all had an enjoyable and restful half term and you’re ready for term 4! This half term is always action packed as we prepare for the greatest celebration of the Catholic Church – Easter.

As we continue many of the topics we started last half term, I am also busy preparing some new interactive science experiments where you’ll be able to put in to practice all of the knowledge and skills you’ve learnt in term 3. For more information on what we will be learning this half term, please see the curriculum overview.

This half term, the children will be given Times Table Rock Starts user names and passwords. As part of their homework, children will need to practice on the app or website for a couple of minutes a day to support them in learning their times tables.

Homework will continue to be set on a Friday and please make sure that you practice spellings on a daily basis, even if it just asking your child to recite these to you on the journey to school (all of these extra little things really do help your child succeed).

Forest school will continue to be on a Friday and PE on a Monday. Please ensure you bring in your water bottle every day, especially as the weather should start getting warmer (fingers crossed!). Mrs Leigh will continue to change the reading books on a Thursday and you must read to an adult at home at least three times a week.
